Sandra L. Smith

Sandra L. Smith is a partner in the law firm of Oast & Hook, P.C., with offices in Portsmouth and Virginia Beach, Virginia, where she practices in the areas of elder law, estate and trust administration, estate planning, special needs trusts and long-term care planning. Ms. Smith is a 1976 graduate of Purdue University with a bachelor’s degree in engineering, and a 1979 graduate of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University with a master’s degree in aviation management. She served as an officer in the United States Air Force for 20 years, then graduated from the College of William and Mary School of Law in 2000, where she was on the William and Mary Law Review and National Moot Court Team. She clerked for the Honorable Charles E. Poston and the Honorable Lydia C. Taylor in the Circuit Court for the City of Norfolk after graduating from law school.
Ms. Smith has been certified as a Certified Elder Law Attorney by the National Elder Law Foundation. She is a member of the Virginia State Bar, the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, Virginia Bar Association, and Virginia Peninsula Chamber of Commerce. She is a member of the Board of Directors for the Commonwealth Community Trust and the William & Mary Law School Alumni Association. Ms. Smith is a past National President of the American Business Women’s Association.
